New Taxes & Fees? Almost Dead
Submitted by MQSullivan on Sat, 05/30/2009 - 5:39pm.
It appears that the members of the Legislature have heard will of the overwhelming number of Texans who understand that now is not the time to impose new taxes and fees on Texas' economy. Texans clearly want the Legislature to address Texas' transportation woes by ending diversions and better prioritization.
While the effort to impose new taxes isn't dead, it has clearly been dealt a strong blow.
We look forward to working with lawmakers during the interim who are committed to solving congestion and transportation issues in the most fiscally responsible manner.
TFR delivered more than 800 letters from Texas voters into legislative offices on Friday, all clearly urging "no new gas taxes." That adds to the thousands we have delivered during the Session. We also were responsible for thousands of calls into targeted legislative districts, ensuring that voters were informed about the actions of their lawmakers.

New Taxes and Fees
I think it is important that we thank those legislators that helped by listening to the taxpayers and not special interests. The special interest will not go away and we need to let the legislators know that standing up for us is appreciated. Good job for all those that took the time and made the effort to contact their legislators.
If possible could you provide a list of those instrumental in listening/helping taxpayers?
