Gasing Up Taxes

While House Democrats have been busily chubbing up the Calendar, the Texas Senate was preparing a sneak-attack on the taxpayers' wallets. State Sen. John Carona (R-Dallas) has tacked his Senate Bill 855 -- allowing the imposition of new gas taxes and fees -- onto the TxDOT re-authorization bill, House Bill 300. The bill, including the new taxes and fees, passed the Senate Monday night.

While styled as a "demonstration" project, the only thing being demonstrated is more unaccountable spending.

There isn't a single transparency or accountability measure in the Carona mix! For example, counties don’t even have to demonstrate a project being funded with new taxes reduces traffic congestion!

This is just the construction of a new avenue into taxpayers wallets.

Some of the provisions include:
> Local gas taxes of 2-cents, 4-cents, 6-cents, 8-cents, or 10-cents per gallon;
> A "mobility fee" of up to $60 vehicle registration; and
> Up to $48 in a new drivers license fee.

Carona's tinkering also allows Metropolitan Planning Organizations to impose new taxes and fees.

Now it rests with the House to stop the tax hikes Carona stuck into HB300.

Each of us must sound the alarm today and make sure the House knows this effort is bad for families, bad for the economy and bad Texas.

North Central Texas "Regional Rail" HB 9, HB 855, HB 300

Regional Rail ... the next $35 BILLION abortion brought to you by yor loacl thugs and goons!

Get the monkey off the backs of citizen/taxpayers who will pick up the tab for 80% to 90% of the operating cost of this so called service.

Citizens against more taxes

We have said No, but not loud enough. Now it's time for us to "demonstrate" that we mean business and will not tolerate more spending -- and find replacements for those legislators who have set about to destroy Texas through our wallets.

MORE Taxes!?

In this time of depression, it is absolutely absurd that you would vote for more taxes. This is bad for families, bad for the economy and bad for Texas! What are your plans for us when we run out of money? We are dangerously close to that now! Why do you hate us? Stop increasing taxes, fees and government in general!

This seems to be an announcement, on your part, to please vote you out of office. Well, we would be more than happy if you would just resign immediately! Please vote in favor of the citizens of Texas and quit being so greedy!

Most of us live paycheck to paycheck and have NO surplus money. Again, why do you hate us? If you force us all on some sort of welfare, don't you see that our wonderful state of Texas will become like the awful state of California! Is that what you are aiming for?

Stop the stupidity! Use your brains! The state of Texas cannot continue with all of the garbage that you are voting in! You are destroying us! Your job is to represent your constituents, not to go to Austin to see how much money you can steal from us. It is time to tighten our belts and that means the state, also! This is not the time to be fattening YOUR wallets! We can no longer afford vacations or even eating out. Retirement is just a dream. Only God alone can help us because the great state of Texas seems to only want to hurt us. Now, get busy, and do the job that you were elected to do!

The Eyes of Texas are Upon You!

SB 855

To whom it may concern: I am against SB 855. This is not a time to be adding taxes on anyone, especially since Sen Carona sneaked it in under HB 300. Remember, all you SOB's you keep pulling this crap against the will of the people, you "CAN, and WILL be voted OUT" come the next election. We are completely fed up with washington, and we surely won't let TEXAS LEGISLATORS get away with these deceptions. WE WIll REMEBER THIS!

Voting Right

The seven senators who voted CORRECTLY -- trying to end the Carona tax and fee hikes -- were: Dan Patrick, Troy Fraser, Jane Nelson, Joan Huffman, Mike Jackson, Glenn Hegar and Steve Ogden.

Voting out RINOs

Just remember folks, you need to vote the RINOs out in the primary, not the general, election. The last thing we want to do is replace them with democrats.

THE DEATH OF OUR REPUBLIC

Okay, so you want to be voted out of office after the people YA'LL DIDN'T LISTEN TO TOLD YOU NOT TO RAISE TAXES ON US. Let the devestation of our wallets and your political carriers begin.
