Senate: Get Taxed

Submitted by MQSullivan on Thu, 04/09/2009 - 10:58am.

State senators decided on Wednesday that rather than control waste, end diversions and promote transparency, they'd just let taxes and fees rise. That's the only message the Senate's vote on John Carona's disasterous SB 855 can send.

Fortunately, there were eight senators willing to stand up for commonsense and fiscal responsibility:
        Troy Fraser of Horseshoe Bay
        Glenn Hegar of Katy
        Joan Huffman of Houston
        Mike Jackson of Galveston
        Jane Nelson of Denton
        Steve Ogden of Bryan
        Dan Patrick of Houston
Letica Van de Putte of San Antonio

Now the fight on this legislation moves to the Texas House.

A good summary of what's wrong with the legislation can be found at the Texas Public Policy Foundation.

Taxed To Death!

Thats the best they can do...Lets see we got a problem..hmmmm ..probably one we created....what can we do to fix the problem....hmmmmm...we're thinking real hard (the smell of feathers burning).... we've almost got it...hmmm...its coming we've almost got the solution because we're brilliant untouchable unaccountable pompous ignorant and deserve a^%^&&##&*_ I know lets F^&&^**( raise their TAXES!!! Such an original idea! God you guys are traitors ugh I mean brilliant!

SB855

Thank you the eight senators who voted against this bill.

We need eight more to join them. The big thing is to remember at election time the senators who voted for SB855.

Remember to re-elect the eight that voted against it and
vote against the ones that voted for it. They need an
early retirement plan.

I for one am SICK and TIRED of our legislators taking the
easy way out to make ends meet, (more taxes &fees. Could
you operate your business or household like this. They
either need to work harder at reducing spending or get
out of the way so someone else can.

I totally agree with your comments. The power of the vote seems to be all that gets any attention. Hopefully, with picture ID required with voting, the true power of our votes will be seen (with lack of voter fraud).

Out with irresponsible legislators.

SB 855

So only 8 out of 31 senators were willing to stand up for commonsense and fiscal responsibility! Well it looks like 23 have to be voted out!!!!!
