While our online polls are never intended to be scientific — or anything but fun — we noted that the poll launched shortly after the end of the Jan 14 gubenatorial debate had several hundred votes being cast for one candidate from a single IP address.

We have chosen not to name the candidate, because it is unlilkely the person doing this was associated with the campaign. It is unfair to tarnish the candidate for the over-eagerness of a supporter.

However, such trolling is inappropriate and take the fun away from such exercises. We therefore deleted the poll.

In the future, EmpowerTexans.com online polls will be restricted to registered users, with one vote per user.
