Texas is about to be swarmed by advocates of the “Streamlined Sales Tax,” as they hold their quarterly meeting in Dallas on December 11 & 12. They say their goal is to “simplify” sales taxes by making them “uniform” across the country. In truth, they just want to make it easier to raise taxes and grab more cash from your pocketbook.
As one whose wife died of cancer, I might at first blush appear surprisingly to be the grinch who stole Christmas. But it would be intellectually remiss not to reveal the shortcomings -- and alternatives -- to Proposition 15, on the ballot November 6. There is a better and faster way to cure cancer.
