Andrew Kerr



Andrew Kerr is the executive director of Empower Texans / Texans for Fiscal Responsibility, coordinating its legislative and political education activities.

Before re-joining the Empower Texans team, Andrew served as a Field Representative for American Majority in Texas where he directed, coordinated and executed candidate identification and grassroots political training efforts.

Andrew graduated cum laude from Southwestern University in 2006 specializing in Political Science and History. Shortly after graduation, he worked on a political campaign and completed an internship in Washington DC before acting as the Community Relations Coordinator for Empower Texans / Texans for Fiscal Responsibility during the Texas Legislature’s 80th Session.

During his first stint with Empower Texans, Andrew facilitated the development and execution of a successful grassroots advocacy and education campaign promoting the values of personal liberty, smaller government, and responsible fiscal policy.

After the Legislature’s 80th Session, Andrew returned to Washington DC to work for the National Security Council at the White House until the end of the Bush administration.

Andrew resides with his wife in Austin.

Andrew Kerr is the executive director for Empower Texans / Texans for Fiscal Responsibility. While not promoting activism in the name of liberty and limited government, he is known to be found in the company of good friends, beers, books, and board games debating the finer points of various topics including: politics, religion, foreign policy, and Texas’ relative superiority to other states.
